Arsenal had signed a lot of players during the summer transfer window but as per Football London, they intend to continue their spending in January as well.

Before the start of the season, the Gunners had signed Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares. And slowly all these players are settling well into their individual roles.

Now as per Football London, the North London club are planning to rope in a new defender and a new midfielder at the start of the new year.

The report claims: “Arsenal director Edu has already decided on the club’s next two signings in the January transfer window.

“So far, the new signings have settled in well at the Emirates Stadium, but Arsenal are still looking for further reinforcements when the January transfer window opens in a few months’ time.

“football.london understands that the Gunners are expected to target a new midfielder and a defender in the upcoming winter window.”

A lot of the summer transfers were initially frowned upon by the pundits as well as the fans but slowly all these players are starting to prove their worth at the club.

Players like Ben White and Ramsdale have already come good while Lokonga and Tomiyasu have also looked very dependable in their respective roles.

Arsenal are going to see the departure of some first-team players in January and if that is the case then they could move for more than two signings.

Bernd Leno and Lacazette could both head for greener pastures at the start of the new year meaning Arteta might have to go after a backup keeper as well as a centre-forward.

It remains to be seen just how much budget will the manager get to spend in January but if he can generate funds from sales then Arsenal could very well target the bigger fishes in the pond.
