4-3-3 England’s predicted line up vs Hungary: A complete reshuffle of the XI?

Wembley England

England ran riot against Andorra in their first game of this international break and this win was enough for them to open up a massive gap at the top of their group in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions take on Hungary in their second game of the break and this is going to be a tougher challenge for Southgate’s side. Hungary are currently fourth in the group and they surprisingly lost to Albania at the weekend.

England should come out as the winners in this encounter(more so since they ran out 4-0 winners in the reverse fixture) but that loss to Albania has caused a lot of headaches to Hungary so they will have to throw the kitchen sink at the Three Lions if they wish to qualify.

Gareth Southgate rested most of his first-team regulars against Andorra but he’s surely going to name a really strong side vs Hungary in midweek.

England team news vs Hungary:

Johnstone started in goal as Southgate rested Pickford fearing the keeper might get injured on the artificial turf. But against Hungary, he is going to come back into the side.

John Stones will hold onto his place as Tyrone Mings is will most likely replace Conor Coady. Luke Shaw and Kyle Walker are also going to start meaning Ben Chilwell and Trippier will have to move to the bench.

Ben Chilwell was one of the goalscorers in that 5-0 win over Andorra but Luke Shaw is the first-choice left-back for England right now and Southgate is not going to jeopardise that.

The midfield is going to see a complete reshuffle with Foden, Lingard and Ward-Prowse moving to the bench. Declan Rice will reprise his role in defensive midfield while Mason Mount also comes back into the side.

Many pundits think Foden should hold onto his place but the England boss is going to give minutes to all his players so the Manchester City man will have to be content with a place on the bench.

Harry Kane will lead the line, replacing Tammy Abraham. Jadon Sancho was lucky enough to get a start against Andorra but against Hungary, the England boss is going to use Jack Grealish on the left-hand side of the pitch.

Bukayo Saka got a rating of 7.8/10 for his performance against Andorra but if rotation is the way to go then it’s going to be Raheem Sterling who’s going to start.

England predicted line up vs Hungary:

Predicted Starting XI: Pickford; Shaw, Walker, Stones, Mings; Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice, Mount; Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, Sterling/Saka.
