According to a report by Football Insider, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool will have to pay a premium if they want to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto.

Neto has been with Wolves since joining from Lazio in 2019 for a fee of around £15.3 million but the winger’s progress at the club has been halted due to injuries. Over the years, Neto has missed close to 100 games but still, Wolves offered him a new contract in 2022.

His current deal expires in 2027 which is why Wolves are looking to bag around £50-60 million for the right-winger.

There are fears that Mo Salah is going to leave for the Saudi Pro League at the end of this season which is why Liverpool are looking at someone like Pedro Neto as the possible replacement.

Arsenal have Bukayo Saka who plays on the right wing and the England international has been phenomenal but Mikel Arteta is reportedly looking to add competition for the wide positions.

Man City are perhaps the only club who do not need Pedro Neto and Pep Guardiola will only go after the Portugal international if they offload one or two forwards during the summer transfer window.

Neto’s current market value is £36 million and he still has three years left on his current contract. On paper, a £50-60 million valuation might seem reasonable but Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool will be a bit sceptical to spend so much on someone who’s hardly scored an assisted for the Molineux outfit.

In his 129 appearances for Wolves, Pedro Neto has had only 37 goal contributions plus he’s massively injury-prone. He’s undoubtedly a top-class player but he’ll have big boots to fill at clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool.

Salah, at Liverpool, has scored 204 goals while Bukayo Saka, at just 22 years of age, has netted 51 and assisted 53 goals for the Gunners. Man City perhaps have the least interest in the winger but even at the Etihad, Neto will have to compete with stalwarts like Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

This season, Pedro Neto has assisted eight league goals in 14 starts but still, he’s very much overvalued at £50-60 million. A transfer fee of around £45 million will be much more reasonable for the 23-year-old.
