Manchester United have come to the conclusion that defender Eric Bailly is surplus to requirements at the club and Solskjaer is ready to offload him.
The Norwegian will be given the permanent job at United and the manager is also expected to be given a huge transfer budget.
Solskjaer is planning to bring in some new players during the summer and in order to do that he needs to free up some space in the dressing room.
And it looks like Eric Bailly will be one of those players who will be leaving for greener pastures.
Eric Bailly joined Man United in 2016 from Villarreal but the centre-back is yet to settle down completely at Old Trafford.
Under Jose Mourino, he did see a fair amount of game time but Solskjaer clearly prefers the duo of Smalling and Lindelof at the back and with playing likes Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as backups, there is no need for Eric Bailly.
If reports are to believed then both Arsenal and Spurs are interested in signing up the defender and are expected to launch a bid during the summer transfer window.
Both Arsenal and Spurs are not known to make heavy spendings in the transfer market but the London clubs feel they can sign Eric Bailly up for a bargain price given the player only has around one year left on his current deal.
Man United know it for a fact that they cannot charge heavily for the Ivorian but the club signed Eric Bailly for 30 million pounds and they wish to recover as much of that as possible.
Arsenal will reportedly have a transfer budget of 50 million pounds during the summer and bringing in a new defender is one of the first things that Unai Emery will have to do.
Spurs too need to make a couple of signings at the end of the season given they have failed to bring in even a single player during the past two transfer windows.
