Everton FC are sure to bring in a couple of new players during the January transfer window and one of them could be Alfredo Morelos.
It was just a couple of days ago that Rangers’ new sporting director Ross Wilson had made it clear that the club wanted to keep hold of the Colombian – atleast until the end of the season.
He said: “I was speaking to Steven about (Morelos) at the weekend. He’s been well quoted on this already.
“The first-team has a number of players who could be really interesting for a number of clubs because the club is in a significantly better position than it was before and a lot of that is down to the recruitment and the work Steven and the coaching staff have done with the players.
“And keeping our best players here for as long as possible is important.”
But according to former England international Darren Bent, Premier League club Everton will try and sign Morelos as soon as the next transfer window begins.
“I’d be surprised Everton don’t try to go and sign him,” Bent told Football Insider, as quoted by Birmingham Live.
“He’s a bit temperamental, but he can score goals, he’s got the great ability and to be fair to Rangers if they can go and get a load of money for him, let’s say £20m+ for him, they’ve still got, Jermain Defoe who gets goals week-in-week-out.”
Alfredo Morelos is a goal machine as he has already netted more than 20 goals across all competition for Rangers during the current season.
And given that Everton themselves have only managed to score 13 goals in the Premier League so far, this could very well be a match made in heaven.
The Toffees fans will be itching to see some reinforcements, especially in the final third and the management, do have the money to entice the Colombian and bring him on board at the start of the new year.
During the summer, Rangers were reportedly asking for around 10-12 million pounds for their star player which if it still holds true will be nothing more than pocket change for Everton FC.
