Rangers FC have so far made nine signings during the summer transfer window and a couple of other players are expected to join in the next few weeks.

But with so many people arriving at the club, Steven Gerrard is also busy offloading all the deadwood from the locker-room. And one such player who could be shown the door before the start of the 2018-19 season is centre-back, Fabio Cardoso.

Cardoso joined Rangers from Portuguese side, Vitória de Setúbal for a fee of 1.3 million pounds but the 24-year-old has failed to impress anyone at the club.

Fabio Cardoso made only 11 appearances last season in the Scottish Premiership but instead of working hard in order to try and impress new manager Steven Gerrard the player is busy appreciating another Gers flop, Carlos Pena.

Like Fabio Cardoso, Carlos Pena was yet another high profile signing for the Light Blues who came to Scotland last season for a fee of around 2.2 million pounds.

And following in the footsteps of Cardoso, Pena also proved to be a major flop at Ibrox and managed to play only eight games last season.

The Mexican is now out on loan to Mexican side Necaxa where his career has got off to a flyer.

Carlos Pena has already managed to win a trophy without even kicking a ball after Necaxa won the Supercopa MX – beating Monterrey 1-0.

The 28-year-old midfielder did not even kick a ball during the game but he made sure he posted a picture with the trophy on social media.

And as soon as Carlos Pena posted this image, Fabio Cardoso was quick to appreciate his achievement.

While it is more or less certain that Carlos Pena will not be returning back to Rangers no matter how successful his loan spell in Mexico is and if Fabio Cardoso does not pull up his socks we are pretty sure that he too will face the same fate as his flop mate.
