After a full season of disappointments striker, Eduardo Herrera has finally left Ibrox and gone back to his home country of Mexico.

The 29-year-old joined the Gers last summer under then manager Pedro Caixinha for a fee of around 1.5 million pounds but the fans quickly realized that the forward was of no use to them.

Eduardo Herrera played 21 games for the Light Blues last season and managed to score only 2 goals out of which only one was in the Scottish Premiership.

And now that Steven Gerrard has taken the charge of the Ibrox outfit the former Liverpool midfielder has wasted very little time in sending Herrera out.

Eduardo Herrera has moved back to Mexico in order to join Santos Laguna with whom he had a loan spell back in the 2013-14 season.

But the fans are not particularly happy with Gerrard’s transfer decision given the fact that the move was only a loan deal rather than a permanent one.

A loan deal means that the Gers will still have to pay a part of Herrera’s wage bill and the fans have been criticizing the club’s refusal to sell him off especially during a time when they need to cut their wage bill for the upcoming season.

Here are some funny yet interesting reactions from the fans after Eduardo Herrera moved back to Mexico:

After Eduardo Herrera was sent out by Steven Gerrard we saw a pattern that the new Gers boss is not to keen to sell off players at the drop of a hat. Maybe he is of the view that the club can still use some of them in the future or maybe he is just trying to hold onto them so that they can squeeze out a little more money out of them.
