Rangers FC failed to pick up a win in their first league game of the same after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aberdeen away from home.

The Light Blues started the match on the back foot after Alfredo Morelos was sent off at the 12th-minute mark after an off the ball incident with an Aberdeen defender – leaving the club with an uphill task.

But the Gers were easily the better side on the day and eventually took that elusive lead thanks to James Tavernier who converted from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark.

Just when the fans thought that their team had done enough to pick up a hard-fought win, the Gers were hit by a 93rd-minute goal from Bruce Anderson.

While the fans would have few complaints from their team and how they played during the game but a large section of the fans were not particularly happy with their manager before the start of the game.

Steven Gerrard chose to make a handful of changes from the 1-1 draw against Osijek in midweek but the fans were not happy with one particular player being rested.

After the Light Blues announced their squad for the Aberdeen game, a number of fans raised their voices against the benching of Daniel Candeias and playing Josh Windass in his place.

Rangers are back in action again this midweek when they welcome Maribor for the third qualifying round of the Europa League on Thursday night.
