Rangers FC kicked off their Scottish Premiership campaign with a 1-1 draw against Aberdeen on Sunday.

The Gers led the match 1-0 despite playing most of the game with 10 men but it was an injury time goal from Aberdeen youngster Bruce Anderson which denied Steven Gerrard his first win with the Light Blues.

Gers striker Alfredo Morelos was sent off in the 12th minute of the match after the referee – Clancy adjudged that the striker had kicked out at Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.

At first, referee Kevin Clancy failed to notice the incident but his assistant referee David McGeachie immediately got the message through and Morelos was handed the marching orders.

To everyone’s eye, the red card was surely a harsh one and the Light Blues fans have vented out their anger on the referee for giving yet another bad decision against their club.

The 1-1 draw means that Rangers are now seventh on the league table with just one point while their Old Firm rivals sit third on the table.

The red card means that Alfredo Morelos will not be available for Rangers’ next league game against St Mirren on the 12th of August but hopefully, their other striker Umar Sadiq will be able to make himself match fit during this time.
