Rangers FC have signed 15 new players during the summer transfer window and with that Steven Gerrard has provided the club with one of the best transfer windows in the recent seasons.

There’s no denying that a number of these players have joined the Glasgow side in order to play under the managerial regime of Steven Gerrard.

And now one more player has revealed that he wants to join Rangers in order to play under the new boss.

The player we are talking about is Darren Bent who currently is a free agent.

Darren Bent has played for a number of top Premier League clubs and spent the last season with Championship side Derby County.

But the club released him at the end of the previous season and now Darren Bent is training with Burton Albion.

And speaking to talkSPORT, Bent has revealed that he would love to join Rangers and play under his former England teammate Steven Gerrard.

“100 per cent!” Bent told talkSPORT.

“You’re talking about one of the biggest clubs in football in Rangers.

“To get the opportunity to go up there and play – definitely!”

Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough has offered Darren Bent a pay-as-you-play deal at the Pirelli Stadium but it seems that the 34-year-old wants to keep his options open before diving into a decision.

Rangers already have Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty as their two front men but if Steven Gerrard does go after Darren Bent then there’s no doubt that the striker will be a fine addition to the team.

Darren Bent has played more than 500 games in his career scoring 217 goals but as things stand there’s no news that Rangers are eager to bring the striker on-board.
