Manchester City have signed only three players during the summer transfer window but the way they have started the new Premier League season there’s no doubt that Guardiola’s side will be the favourites to win the title once again.

While this strong team is great news for the fans of the club but for the players who are trying to break into the first eleven – it can be a nightmare.

Guardiola is known to be a man who rarely fiddles around with his playing eleven – and why would you do so especially when your team are nearly invincible.

But this invincibility has seriously hampered the careers of a lot of young players in the club. And among the players who are rotting on the sidelines, the name of 21-year-old Patrick Roberts signs the brightest.

The winger joined Man City from Fulham in 2015 but since then Roberts has made only one appearance for the Citizens. But while the opportunities at City are next to none, Patrick Roberts has been thriving out on loan during the past couple of season.

Roberts joined Scottish Premiership side Celtic FC on loan in January of 2016 and since then the winger has spent every season in Scotland.

And his impressive performances have made him a darling amongst the Hoops faithful. Patrick Roberts made 82 appearances during his two and a half season stay at Celtic Park – scoring 18 goals.

Last season though, the 21-year-old spent a number of months on the sidelines with an injury – failing to make the desired impact. But that hasn’t stopped Brendan Rodgers from wanting him back on loan.

The Celtic manager wants to bring back Patrick Roberts on yet another loan deal but this time around the youngster has a lot more suitors.

His previous endeavours at Celtic have caught the attention of a number of European outfits and teams like Bordeaux, Girona, St Etienne and Rennes all want the winger on loan.

After a number of successful campaigns with the Hoops, many people had thought that Guardiola would give Patrick Roberts a chance during the summer but the youngster has hardly featured during the pre-season tour which means that he is in line to make yet another loan switch.

Brendan Rodgers desperately wants Patrick Roberts back at Celtic Park but now it seems that the winger is not bound for Scotland so instead the Hoops have secured a loan deal for Man City’s Daniel Arzani who signed for the Premier League champions only last week.
