Rangers FC were through a disastrous couple of years ever since they went into liquidation and the Glasgow outfit have been trying to find their feet ever since.

This summer the Gers appointed former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard as their new boss and after a long time, the fans have started believing that the English legend might bring back their glory days.

Gerrard has made eleven news signings during his short regime and the Light Blues have had a fairly good start to the 2018-19 season.

Even though they drew their first Scottish Premiership game against Aberdeen, the mood amongst the team and fans is very joyous.

But amongst all this former Rangers boss Mark Warburton has issued a warning to Steven Gerrard.

Warburton has warned the new Rangers boss not to get sucked into conspiracy theories within the club and he should only focus on the immediate job at hand.

The former Rangers manager said: “Steven is a world-class player who played in the Champions League and England internationals,

“But you have to be very careful not to get into a siege mentality in Glasgow. I kept hearing from staff and people around the club, ‘Everyone up here hates us. Everyone hates Rangers!’

“I was like, ‘Hang on a second, do you realise how paranoid that sounds?’

“You can’t let it cloud your judgment or dilute your levels of clear thinking. But I have no doubt Steven will be able to deal with it.”

But we feel that Warburton’s message to Steven Gerrard might have come a bit late as the new manager has already voiced his concerns about the injustice done to the club after the Light Blues drew their first game of the season against Aberdeen.

Gerrard had said: “It seems like the world is against us today,

“But we’ll make sure we get better for that because it looks like some more decisions will go against us as the season goes on.

“We need to try and use it to our advantage. It’s not just today, I believe it’s been happening for seasons. That’s just my opinion.”

Rangers play their next game in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday when they take on St Mirren at Ibrox.
