West Ham United finished 13th on the Premier League table at the end of the 2017-18 campaign and the London outfit were entangled in a relegation battle for a fair amount of time.

In order to ensure that such a catastrophe does not happen again, the Hammers management brought in Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager and also spend a considerable amount of money in order to sign new players during the summer.

West Ham United have signed as many as nine players during the transfer window – spending close to a 100 million pounds.

But with the arrival of so many players, there is that obvious question as to which players will be sacrificed during the course of the new season.

And one such player whose future at the club might be in doubt is Mark Noble.

Noble has been a loyal servant to the club – playing more than 400 games for the Hammers since he made his debut during the 2004-05 season.

Noble, 31, is the current captain of the team which has gone on to show the amount of faith that Manuel Pellegrini has shown on his senior pro. But that has not stopped the gossip columns from hinting at the fact that this season might be Mark Noble’s final one at the London stadium.

Last season Mark Noble played 29 games in the Premier League and the new boss has hinted that the midfielder will not be receiving regular game time this season too.

Talking to the press, Pellegrini said: “Mark Noble is the captain of the team and, although I don’t know how many times he will be selected, every time he is selected he will be captain!”

Mark Noble has also talked about his time at the club and how he has had too much responsibility on his shoulder during the past couple of seasons. Now he wishes to enjoy more and let the other players share his burden.

“I just want to enjoy it more than I have done the last couple of seasons because I have been putting out fires left, right and centre,”

West Ham United play their first game of the new season on Sunday when they take on Liverpool at Anfield and Mark Noble is expected to lead his side out as the captain.
