Arsenal are planning to bring a new midfielder this summer and they have been keeping tabs on Franck Kessie on for a really long time now.

Last summer, the Gunners tried to sign Kessie but the 23-year-old ended up joining AC Milan. Now once again, there are rumours that the Gunners are planning to make a move for him as they seek to bring in reinforcements.

The midfielder has played in 23 Serie A games this season for Milan and so far he’s been a key figure in the middle of the park for the Italian side.

While some reports have claimed that Franck Kessie might look to move to the Premier League next season since there will be a change of guard for the Rossoneri.

But George Atangana, the player’s agent has revealed that Franck Kessie is very happy with life in AC Milan and right now, he has no plans of vacating his locker room at the San Siro.

‘I remember that we joined Milan when they were a gamble, we did it because this is a club that has always meant a lot to us,’ Atangana told Calciomercato, via Metro.

‘Now there is a project under development and for this reason, the present leads me to think that the future can also be red and black.

‘We are in one of the most important clubs in the world, which certainly does not experience the moment of greatest splendour, but which intends to revive itself.

‘Ivory Coast has closed its borders and for this reason, it is not easy to bring him back, but I know Franck trains every day to ensure he is ready, and he tries to make himself useful also from a social point of view,

‘He sent food for families in difficulty and gave masks and disinfectants. In a situation like this, whoever can help must do so.’

Mikel Arteta is looking to bring in a defensive midfielder who can replace Granit Xhaka next season and Franck Kessie would have been a perfect alternative to the Swiss international.

But now it will be really hard for the Gunners to lure him out of Italy during the summer more so since West Ham United and Wolves are also waiting in line to make a move for the 23-year-old.

Thankfully for the Gunners, Franck Kessie is not the only defensive midfielder who’s on their radar as Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey has also been linked with the move to the Emirates.
