Manchester United took on Liverpool in a pre-season friendly in the United States but a game between these two arch rivals can never be a friendly affair.

Liverpool came out on top during the game beating Jose Mourinho’s side 4-1 thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Daniel Sturridge, Sheri Ojio and Xherdan Shaqiri.

The highlight of the game came from new signing Xherdan Shaqiri who scored Liverpool’s fourth goal of the game via a superb overhead kick. And the fans can’t stop raving about the strike.

As soon as Shaqiri scored the goal, a number of Liverpool fans started mocking former United legend and current pundit, Garry Neville.

In the past, Neville has been quite vocal about the fact that Xherdan Shaqiri is a player who is not suited for playing at the top level.

During the World Cup, Neville had commented on the fact that Xherdan Shaqiri was lazy and unprofessional. So when the midfielder scored the overhead kick against Manchester United on Saturday, Neville was a tagged in a number of posts.

But the former full-back had the perfect reply to all the hate that he had been receiving.

Neville wrote: “I hope you lot are going to message me every time you see him stood on the halfway line whilst your team are being attacked! Oh, and he needs Ronaldinho playing with him.”

Xherdan Shaqiri played the 2017-18 season with Stoke City but the midfielder’s heroics was not enough from preventing Stoke from getting relegates.

And while everyone thought that the 26-year-old might have to play in the Championship, Liverpool made a surprise move for the former Bayern Munich player securing his services for just £13.5 million.
