Former Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney is currently living out the twilight end of his career at his boyhood club Everton and now there are talks that the former English International could be on his way to America.

Wayne Rooney has held talks with new Toffees boss Marco Silva about his future and both the club and the manager have claimed that they will not stand in his way if he wishes to move out.

Rumours have it that Rooney has held discussions with MLS side DC United but he is yet to make a final call.

Now, Rooney’s former England teammate and current Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has come out and said that the time is right for Wayne to move to MLS and enjoy the last phase of his career.

Gerrard told Press Association Sport“I hope he does, I hope he makes it. I enjoyed my time at the MLS and enjoyed the life experience,

“I think where Wayne is now in his career I think it would be great for him and his family to go and settle in an incredible state and see a lot of America.

“It is certainly a life experience I’ll never forget and I hope he goes and has the same.

“The league is a good league, the players are fit and mobile and it is competitive and I enjoyed it at that stage of my career.”

Steven Gerrard is no stranger to live in America as he himself spent 18 months in the MLS with LA Galaxy after leaving Liverpool.

And like Gerrard and now possibly Wayne Rooney, many of their English counterparts have chosen to spend the final couple of seasons of his playing career in the United States.

Wayne Rooney has been in decent form since he moved to Everton from Manchester United and he might even have played in the 2018 World Cup had he not retired from International football last year.
