England got off to a winning start in the 2018 World Cup after the Three Lions beat Tunisia 2-1 courtesy of Harry Kane.

The match though was anything but easy.

Kane gave England the lead early on in the first half but it was Kyle Walker who gave away a rash penalty which helped Tunisia level the game at 1-1. After this, Gareth Southgate’s side missed a flurry of chances and it looked as if the English side would have to be content with a single point.

But it was captain Kane who came to his team’s rescue and scoring an injury-time winner.

After the match, everyone has been gushing about the English striker and one man in particular just can’t hide his emotions.

Kane’s club manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his delight after the striker sealed the victory for England and has also gone on to claim that he wants England to lift the trophy.

Talking to the Sun, Pochettino said: “My boy! He scored twice, I’m so proud. Unbelievable,

“I watched in my hotel room and when he scored in the last minute I was running around like an England fan.

“I probably celebrated more than Tottenham goals as I have to be different as manager.

“I was a fan. England is my home, I support them the same as Argentina, I want them to win.”

But not everyone is on the same wavelength as Pochettino after former England World Cupper Paul Merson branded Harry Kane’s performance against Tunisia as poor.

Thankfully there are only a handful of people who would agree with Paul Merson as most of the pundits and fans believe that England have a very balanced side this year and a few have also claimed that the Three Lions might also win the World Cup.
