Rangers FC blew away Dundee in the Premiership this week but the manager was not particularly pleased with his players’ performances.

The manager made it clear that the players need to entertain the crowd who are watching the game. And in order to do that the Gers need to score more goals.

Gerrard has made it clear that even though he was happy with Jermain Defoe’s performances so far but he needs to score goals – the exact reason why he was brought in at the start of the new year.

“That is what we’ve brought him here for, to score goals,” he told RangersTV(as reported).

“It doesn’t matter whether Jermain plays 90 minutes or 60 or 30, we want him to be a goal threat, and his movement is fantastic.

“I used to love playing with him. He’s a dream for a midfielder because his movement tells you where to play the ball.

“It was a great pass from Ryan and a great finish, and he’ll continue to do that if we provide the service for him.”

Jermain Defoe joined Rangers from AFC Bournemouth on an 18-month loan deal and it seems like Gerrard’s former teammate has settled down well at Ibrox.

During the first few games, Jermain Defoe started alongside Alfredo Morelos up front but on Wednesday against Dundee, the striker came off the bench.

Even though he managed to score a goal but the fans have urged the manager to field Defoe from the start.
