Rangers lost their final game of the season to Kilmarnock 1-2 and with that Ryan Kent who is on loan from Liverpool played his goodbye game for Gers.

Ryan Kent arrived from Anfield on a season-long loan deal and with the summer window approaching, he will be heading back to England.

But during the past couple of months, there have been reports that Gerrard is planning to make the signing of Ryan Kent permanent.

And this rumour was further fueled when Ryan Kent recently went on to claim that he plans to settle down in a club after growing frustrated of going out on loan deals every year.

Ryan Kent said“I want to kick-start my career somewhere now. I am tired of changing clubs each year, I want to settle down somewhere,

“Liverpool have been good to me, but the enjoyment factor of going back there each year and doing well in pre-season and going back out on loan, it is a repetitive cycle.

“I have three years left on my contract at Liverpool and there’s not much I can really do.”

And now after the loss to Killie, Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Rangers have officially made contact with Liverpool in order to keep him at the club next year.

He said: “We’re doing everything we can.

“We’re speaking to Liverpool, we’re in touch with Ryan’s representatives, we’ve made an offer and we’re hopeful but there’s nothing to say on it to confirm it, but for our supporters what I can do is guarantee we’re doing everything we can to try and get him in.

“We’ve got irons in the fire with numerous players but all I can say is watch this space.

“We’re making additions to the squad and Greg Stewart is someone we admire very much.”

Liverpool too are willing to sell off Ryan Kent for the right price which as things stand is around £9 million.

So now the big question is whether Rangers are willing to shell out that much money on Ryan Kent?
