Chelsea have been struggling with their striking position as Alvaro Morata has turned out to be a major flop at the club.

The Blues have been wanting to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus and it looks like the move is finally going to happen.

Gonzalo Higuain has been on loan to AC Milan this season but now the Turin outfit have cancelled that contract and the Argentinian is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

According to the latest reports, the striker has boarded the first flight to London on Wednesday morning and should arrive in London the same afternoon.

Gonzalo Higuain is expected to complete his medical on Wednesday as Chelsea are moving swiftly to wrap up the signing.

This hastiness from the Blues is primarily because of they want to complete the signing before they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup on Thursday.

Up until now, the Blues have no other options upfront given Alvaro Morata is set to sign for Athletico Madrid on a loan spell.

So if Gonzalo Higuain’s signing is not wrapped up by Wednesday then Sarri will once again be forced to play Eden Hazard as his frontman.

And we have seen how poorly that plan was executed during the defeat to Chelsea.

If Gonzalo Higuain’s signing is completed then the Argentinian is more or less a guaranteed starter against the Lilywhites.
