The FIFA World Cup 2018 which is scheduled to be held in Russia kicks off on the 14th of June which means there are less than 7 days left for the high profile tournament.
Before the spectacle kicks off every major broadcaster and entertainment source is doing their bit to enhance their fans’ experience.
And Google is the latest to join the bandwagon. Well, this idea from Google was in the pipelines for some time now and it was unveiled on Thursday the 7th of June.
The world’s leading search engine has made a couple of changes and additions to Google Search which will help users “find a new experience for exploring group tables, stats and trending players so you can keep track of the tournament”.
And all this can be done from the search tab itself, meaning you don’t have to move out to other websites and apps to get the latest updates and news on the FIFA World Cup.
In the latest blog post released by Google, it states that within 30 minutes of the end of each game in the FIFA World Cup, users will be able to find video recaps and highlights from select broadcasters.
Another feature that Google has rolled out is that fans can now pin real-time scores as part of a floating window.
From both the mobile web and the Search app, Knowledge Graph cards will feature a “Pin live score” button.
In addition to this, the Google News feature has also been recently updated and it now features a dedicated World Cup Tracker on Android.
So if your team is participating in the FIFA World Cup or your an avid football fan then Google just made things a whole lot easier for you.
