Harry Kane playing for England Bayern Munich

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Spurs forward Harry Kane this summer despite the Lilywhites putting an absurd £200 million price tag on him.

With such a high transfer value, Daniel Levy has made it clear that his prime asset will not be up for sale but still, pundits believe, Harry Kane could try and walk out if Tottenham fail to keep their Champions League place next season.

But according to pundit Stewart Robson, Man United should only try and sign the England captain only if he has fully recovered from his recent injury.

“I think [Kane’s] had these ankle injuries which have obviously been a problem for him,” Robson told ESPN FC, as reported by Daily Star.

“He’s still a good age, I think he will get back fit and be a top-class player again, I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.

“But before you buy someone you want to make sure they are fully fit and they are playing well.

“You don’t want to buy someone when they’re half-fit and they come in and don’t do the job properly, that’s what’s happened on several other occasions.

“Paul Pogba when he first went to Manchester United wasn’t fully fit, they thrust him into the team and he didn’t play well for the first six or seven weeks and everybody moaned and said it’s not a good signing.

“Harry Kane has to be fully fit if he is to go anywhere, and particularly Manchester United.”

Will Harry Kane be the next Paul Pogba?

Harry Kane ruptured a thigh muscle in the month of January which has kept him out of action since and right now there are growing fears that the player might take a lot of time in order to fully recover from this setback.

While we do think Harry Kane will be a great addition to Man United’s squad but we can’t help but agree with Robson on this one since the England international has a long history of injuries.

This is not the first time Kane has suffered such a massive injury since last year he tore a ligament which kept him on the sidelines for a total of 40 days and then just after he returned back to action, he once again picked up a ligament injury which then forced him to miss nine matches for Spurs.

And much like Paul Pogba, most of the times Harry Kane has picked up a knock, he has been on the treatment table for a prolonged period of time.

Paul Pogba has hardly played first-team football for Manchester United this season due to a culmination of injury woes and if Man United do end up signing an injured Harry Kane then Solskajer might be stuck with yet another big-money burden.

This is why it would be wise for United to do a thorough checkup of the forward before deciding to go out and spend a lot of money on him in the summer.
