Manchester United defender Harry Maguire picked up an injury while playing in the FA Cup against Wolves and this injury forced him to miss the Manchester Derby.

The defender picked up a knock during the first half of the Wolves game but managed to play the full game which was an indication that he might have managed to shake it off.

But speaking after the match, Solskjaer admitted that Harry Maguire could be sidelined for the EFL Cup clash vs City and that is exactly what happened.

With Harry Maguire out of action, it was Phil Jones who played in centre-back alongside Lindelof and Man City managed to just boss them in midweek.

And after this match, the Man United fans have been fearing that their side could suffer a similar faith if the summer signing is not present during the Norwich City game too.

Speaking after the loss, Solskjaer has admitted that the centre-back might not be fit in time to take on Norwich City.

The manager said via the club’s official website: “We don’t know. It is not going to be a long term one.

“But I don’t think he will be ready for the weekend. Let’s see.”

If Harry Maguire cannot make himself fit then it will be Phil Jones who plays in central defence once again and this is a sight no Man United fan wants to see.

Eric Bailly has been sidelined for a long time now while the likes of Marcos Rojo and Axel Tuanzebe are also sidelined with injuries.

And on Wednesday fresh reports have suggested that Maguire has torn a muscle in his hip which could keep him out of action for a long period of time. So naturally once again it will have to be Phil Jones to start in central defence when the Canaries come to town.
