Manchester City up until now were considered the front runners to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City during the current transfer window.

But the latest reports are claiming that now Man United too have joined the race to sign the England international.

This is not the first time that United have been linked with the Leicester defender as Mourinho tried to sign him last summer too.

But this time they are competing directly with their local rivals which is a battle that many pundits feel, Ole can never win.

This though is not the only concern for the United fans.

Up until now, United were heavily linked with De Ligt but it looks like PSG are now favourites to sign the Ajax defender and feeling that they are chasing a lost cause, the Old Trafford outfit have now shifted their focus back to Harry Maguire.

PSG and Barcelona are fighting a heavy battle for De Ligt and Solskjaer feels that going after Harry Maguire will be a more sensible move.

Having said that though, the England defender will not come cheap as reports claim that Leicester have valued him at £80 million.

And if they stick to this price then Harry Maguire will end up costing even more than Virgil Van Dijk.

This hefty price tag though has certainly not fended away interest as both Man United and Man City are more than willing to pay the fee.

And this just goes on to show that Man United have really fallen behind in the race to sign De Ligt.

It is still unclear as to which club Harry Maguire is keen on joining but if he wants to play day-in-day-out then Solskjaer’s club is the one for him.
