Rangers FC have so far signed ten new players under Steven Gerrard during the summer transfer window and with so many players moving into Ibrox, the Gers now have the liability of offloading some deadwood from the locker room.

Rangers have already sent out a couple of players on loan for the next season and some more players are expected to leave the club in the coming few weeks.

And one such member might be midfielder Andy Halliday.

The Light Blues have signed the likes of Scott Arfield, Lassana Coulibaly and Ovie Ejaria during the summer which has pushed Halliday down the pecking order at Ibrox and it is being reported that the midfielder will be moving out of the club pretty soon.

Andy Halliday made an injury-time appearance against Osijek in the Europa League on Thursday and many fans feel that this was the midfielder’s final appearance before Rangers this season.

Jason Holt was sent out on loan earlier on during the summer and with two years remaining on Andy Halliday’s current contract he too will be sent out on a season-long loan deal.

Last season too, the 26-year-old was sent out on loan to FC Gabala but he failed to impress with the club eventually moving back to Scotland in January.

But the fact that Steven Gerrard is planning to send Andy Halliday out of the club, has not gone down too well with a number of fans who feel that the 26-year-old can be an ideal backup to the first choice midfielders.

Apart from playing in midfield, Andy Halliday can also play in as a left-back but Jon Flanagan has made a wonderful start to his Rangers career which invariably means that the 26-year-old can’t break into the first team in that position too.

Now it will be interesting to see whether Steven Gerrard chances his stance on Andy Halliday and keeps him at the club during the 2018-19 season or does he send him out on loan.
