Arsenal lost their Premier League game this past weekend 3-1 to Manchester City this weekend.

And next up the Gunner will take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

The London outfit have slipped to the sixth spot on the league table after the loss to the defending champions but Unai Emery’s men are looking to bounce back next weekend.

And in a bid to do so, the manager is set to receive a huge boost as Henrikh Mkhitaryan could finally be named in the matchday squad after being sidelined with a metatarsal injury.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was expected to return to action vs Man United last month but that game proved to be too early for the Armenian.

But this week, the attacking midfielder did play in the U23 game vs West Ham United meaning he is more or less certain to be named in the matchday squad vs Huddersfield.

Mkhitaryan told the club’s official website: “After a while, I came back. I started playing with the under-23s and I’m very happy. I hope that I won’t have any more injuries and I will keep playing.

“I’m thankful to everyone who has been working with me. To the medical staff, to the fitness coach and everyone, even to my team-mates.

“They were supporting me every day. It’s life, everything is happening and you can get injured or something like that.

“I hope that no one gets injured any more and the team can be fully fit for the next games.”

Having played in just 14 Premier League games, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has certainly not featured heavily under Unai Emery this season but the Armenian does provide a good option from off the bench.

And after a series of disappointing results during the past month, the Arsenal boss can certainly use all the help that he can get.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan though should only be named on the substitutes bench at the John Smith’s Stadium this Saturday and will come on if Emery wants to inject fresh legs into the match.
