‘Parking the bus.’

If you have been following European football for a fair amount of time then surely you would have come across this term once. It a term made famous by Jose Mourinho or should we say his playing tactics.

It’s a term that has been used by a number of pundits and fans to often criticise Jose Mourinho’s overtly defensive style of football which he used- rather successfully, during his time at Chelsea.

And now it seems that the Portuguese has brought that philosophy into Manchester United which has turned the once attacking force into a bit of a mockery amongst its fans.

A number of former United players have time and against pointed out that Jose Mourinho’s brand of football is ruining the legacy of the club, but Mourinho does not care. All he wants is success and to win trophies.

And now former United player Henrikh Mkhitaryan joins the long line of players who has questioned his former boss’ philosophy at Old Trafford.

Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal from Manchester United during the summer transfer window and now the Gunners has claimed that he is more than happy at the Emirates.

Henrikh said“Everything about Arsenal is totally different to United.

“As soon as I came to Arsenal I felt the warmth. It’s like a family where everyone’s taking care of you.

“The philosophy, the playing style, the club – nothing is comparable. It’s like a new page in the book of my life. Arsenal always played offensive football but under Jose, the team at United was playing differently.

“I’m not criticising him or blaming him. It was just a different philosophy.

“But I am enjoying myself more at Arsenal.

“United was difficult but you have to be ready for everything so I kept going,

“Now I’m looking forward to a new chapter.

“I am sure that the new season is going to be a good one for me and for Arsenal. It will be easier as I am starting the season with this team and the new manager, I will understand more of what he is asking and his new playing style.”

Recently, former United midfielder Paul Scholes came out and criticized Jose Mourinho of playing boring football at Manchester United and claimed that if Pep Guardiola was the manager at the club, he would have done things differently.
