Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved out of Arsenal this summer as he joined Serie A side AS Roma on a season-long loan deal.

Arsenal have released an official statement which read“Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined Serie A side AS Roma on loan for the rest of the season.

“Micki joined us in January 2018 from Manchester United and during his time with us, has made 59 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals. His first start for us was memorably marked with a hat-trick of assists in the 5-1 win over Everton in February 2018.

“Micki is a history maker for his national team. He is Armenia’s all-time top goalscorer, scoring 27 goals from his 83 international matches and has been named Armenian Footballer of the Year seven times since 2009.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Micki all the best for his season with Roma.”

And now speaking about his career plans, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed that he will be more than happy to stay back at Roma and make the loan deal permanent at the end of the 2019-20 season.

“Let’s first see what I can do in Roma,” the midfielder told VBET News(as quoted by Sky Sports).

“At the end of the season I think we can talk if I will have the possibility to stay or to go to something else, I don’t know.

“Now, I cannot say about future, it’s better to be focused on the next games.”

VERDICT:

As per reports in Italy, the loan deal for the Armenian does not have an option to buy which means, Unai Emery wants to bring back Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal in order to give him one more chance next year.

But if Mesut Ozil can prove his worth to his manager during the current season then we doubt if the Armenian will have any future at the Emirates.

Also, Dani Ceballos will be trying to fight for the playmaker’s role and if the loanee turns out to be a success then Arsenal will hopefully not think twice about selling off Henrikh Mkhitaryan permanently.
