Liverpool have already been crowned the Premier League champions for the current season and Jurgen Klopp is busy making plans for the 2020-21 season.

The Reds have been a force to reckon with this season and so far they have lost just two matches in the league(before they took on Burnley). Most pundits think Liverpool will be able to defend their title next campaign but according to Peter Crouch, there will be a number of clubs which will provide some serious challenge to the Anfield outfit.

“It may sound obvious but the threat from Manchester City will be huge,” he wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“I saw John Stones said City’s dressing room still believe they have been the best team this season and I can understand why he’s said it — the way they attack is just beautiful to watch.

“But Stones is wrong. Liverpool are deservedly 23 points clear and I think that gap gives you an idea of the magnitude of their achievement.

“They will be the team to beat again next season, as they have got the world’s best goalkeeper, the world’s best defender and three sublime strikers.

“The gap will close over the 12 next months. Chelsea will be exciting and I’m eager to see how Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner bed in.

“I’m watching Manchester United at the moment and, my God, how good does Mason Greenwood look?

“Rio Ferdinand had been telling us about Greenwood for quite a while but to see him sparkle has been one of the highlights of the restart. There is plenty to get excited about next season — but Liverpool remain the team to beat.”

Chelsea have made a number of great signings so far and it’s clear that the Blues are willing to spend big in order to get back to the top of the table.

Manchester United are also looking like a serious top-six team since the restart of the season and if they can bring in players like Jadon Sancho then Solskjaer’s men can also go head to head against Liverpool in a couple of months time.

Klopp will need to make some big transfer decisions in order to freshen up his first-team squad next season since the way Liverpool’s arch-rivals are shaping up, it will take very little time for them to catch up with the newly crowned champions.
