Matteo Guendouzi has fallen down the pecking order after Arsenal went down to Brighton in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago and right now the midfielder looks all set to head out in the summer.

There have been numerous rumours that the Frenchman is no longer wanted by Mikel Arteta and the manager is already looking to bring in a like-for-like replacement during the upcoming transfer window.

Matteo Guendouzi has been really underwhelming this season and that is one of the big reasons why he is no longer wanted at Arsenal but according to Darren Bent, there is something else which might have prompted Arteta to snub the youngster.

“When I first heard this story about him being isolated from the group and training on his own and stuff, the first thing that came to mind was: ‘He’s done something here’,” Bent told Football Insider.

“Something’s gone on because obviously he showed poor attitude when he grabbed Maupay round his throat and all that.

“Now we know there’s a lot of players in the Premier League and football that have done things worse than that but still train with the group or continue as normal.

“This shows that behind the scenes it must be a lot worse than we think because for a manager to exile a player like that and not have him train in the first team, that shows he’s kind of a bad egg and the manager doesn’t want him around his first-team players.

“There must be something a lot deeper going on than what we’re seeing.”

Some rumours have claimed that Guendouzi’s attitude has been a major problem for the Arsenal manager and the boss clearly does not want a rebel in his squad.

With Dani Ceballos picking up his form since the restart, Matteo Guendouzi can be allowed to leave in the summer and given the age of the player, we are sure that the Gunners will be able to find a suitable buyer for him.
