Atletico Madrid managed to hold Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in the 1st leg of the Round of 16 tie and this week they head to Old Trafford for the 2nd leg.
Since drawing against Man United, Simeone’s side have managed to win each one of their league ties whereas Man United have stumbled, especially against Manchester City just one week ago.
The Spanish side will go into this side very evenly matched with their opponents but the fact that they have so many injuries could very well work against them this week. There’s not much to separate these two sides going into the second leg and the fact that there is no away goals rule could force both the teams to be a lot more adventurous.
Atletico Madrid team news vs Man United:
Diego Simeone has a series of injury concerns going into this match, with the latest being Jose Maria Gimenez who picked up a calf injury in Friday’s game vs Cadiz and the defender is a major doubt for the 2nd leg.
If Gimenez cannot recover in time then Felipe will be the one who comes into central defence.

Sime Vrsaljko and Thomas Lemar both picked up injuries during Atletico’s win over Real Betis one week ago and neither of them is expected to be fit for the trip to England on Tuesday.
With Vrsaljko set to miss out, Marcos Llorente will play as the right wing-back with Lodi playing on the other side because Carrasco is unavailable due to suspension.
Ángel Correa was another player who had picked up a knock in that same Betis game but thankfully he managed to recover and had come off the bench last Friday.

In the 1st leg, it was Correa who had partnered Joao Felix up front but at Old Trafford, there’s a chance that Griezmann will come into the side to partner the young Portuguese international.
Atletico Madrid predicted line up vs Man United:
Predicted Starting XI(3-5-2): Oblak; Stefan Savic, Felipe, Reinildo; Koke, Hector Herrera, Rodrigo, Llorente, Lodi; Felix, Griezmann/Correa.
