Liverpool are still fighting for two trophies this season but in both these competitions, the Anfield outfit are on the back foot.

The Reds beat Huddersfield on Friday with Mo Salah scoring two out of the five goals but Man City once again regained the top spot on the Premier League table after beating Burnley 1-0 on Sunday.

And now speaking about Mo Salah and his prospect of staying at Liverpool next season, former Red Luis Garcia has claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s team will have to win trophies if they wish to keep the Egyptian at the club.

“If Liverpool win trophies then I think it will be much easier for the club to keep Mo Salah,” he told The Mirror(as reported).

“We know that Barcelona and Real Madrid will be in the market for the best players in the summer. And if you talk about the best players in the world right now then Mo Salah must be included.

“I have seen the talk that Barca and Madrid are interested in him and we have seen in the past with Suarez and Coutinho how difficult it is for players to say ‘no’ when they get the chance to sign for one of those clubs.

“If Barcelona or Real Madrid come you will be flattered. They are probably the only two teams that a Liverpool player would think about signing for.

“At this moment, though, I think Liverpool are a different club than what they were. They are now a club with the potential to win the big trophies.”

Mo Salah has been on song this season proving to everyone that he is no one season wonder.

But with such flamboyant performances, a lot of top European clubs are said to be interested in signing him up during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool though have no intentions of selling Mo Salah just yet and even the Egyptian has shown no signs of forcing an exit.

But if the Liverpool management indeed want to keep Mo Salah for years to come then surely they will have to start winning silverware to satisfy the appetite of the forward.
