Spurs have managed to pull things back together and right now they are just three points behind the fourth spot on the Premier League table.

Next up, Spurs take on Newcastle United at home and they will need to win this one in order to maintain the pressure on fourth-placed Arsenal.

Newcastle United might have lost their previous two matches but the Magpies have been in great form under their new manager so Antonio Conte’s side will have to sweat it out on Sunday. In fact, these are the only two matches that Newcastle have lost in the year 2022.

Several of the Spurs players were involved with their respective national teams during the break and there are a few who could miss Sunday’s game due to injuries as well. This means the manager will have to select his players sensibly so that no one picks up any unnecessary injuries.

Spurs team news vs Newcastle United:

Ben Davies picked up a minor muscle injury during the international break but the defender will be fit to face the Magpies this weekend.

The manager has updated: “Ben is okay. He had a little problem, but he’s available.”

Japhet Tanganga has been ruled out for the remainder of the season so any other injuries to defenders will be a major setback for Antonio Conte.

Ryan Sessegnon is also out with a muscle injury and he too will not be available for Sunday’s match. Sessegnon’s absence means Reguilon will hold onto his place in the starting line up.

Rodrigo Bentancur played close to 75 minutes against Chile during the break but since Oliver Skipp is sidelined with a groin injury, the Uruguayan will have to lay against Newcastle United.

Spurs are trying really hard to make Skipp ready for the Newcastle game but the 21-year-old will be touch and go for Sunday’s encounter.

Bergwijn and Lucas Moura have fallen down the pecking order after Kulusevski’s arrival so barring an injury, the Spurs boss is not going to tinker with his front three.

UPDATE:

The Spurs manager has updated that both Skipp and Sessegnon are yet to return to training meaning they will not be ready for the Newcastle game.

Antonio told the press: “The good news is that Skippy and Sessegnon are very close to being back with the team, to having training sessions with us. They are not yet ready for the game against Newcastle, but they are improving.”

Spurs predicted line up vs Newcastle United:

Predicted Starting Line up(3-4-3): Lloris; Ben Davies, Dier, Romero; Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Doherty; Son, Harry Kane, Kulusevski.
