Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is one his way out of the club during the summer and will now join Juventus.

The Gunners had initially offered the Welshman with a new deal but then suddenly they decided to pull the plug which meant that Aaron Ramsey was to become a free agent.

And Juventus took advantage of this situation and scooped him up which means that Arsenal will not receive a penny for the transfer.

If this was any other player, the Arsenal fans would not have been too concerned but given that Aaron Ramsey had been one of the standout performers for Unai Emery this season, the fans were considerably angry with the management.

Now though, Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi has come out to explain why the club chose not to offer Aaron Ramsey a new deal.

“One of the key things for me – and I’ve seen that happening in other clubs – one of the key things is to keep the rationality in the salary balance of the team,” he told Arsenal’s website(as reported).

“Because of our circumstances, because of not renewing Aaron on time, we were in a situation in which Aaron had incredible offers building up on the salary.

“He was really keen on staying with us, he was ready to make the effort but at the end of the whole process we had to be responsible for ourselves and protect the interests of Arsenal. We realised we were going to cause an imbalance that would have been very harmful for the team’s sake in the medium and longer term.”

Mesut Ozil is currently the highest earning player in the Arsenal squad but he too is expected to leave this summer.

But unlike Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal will get a transfer fee for the German.

And in the case of finding a replacement for Ramsey, the Gunners will now have to pay money out of their own pockets which has been deemed to be a really bad decision by many pundits.
