Chelsea beat Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals and now they will take on Eintracht in the semi-final next month.

The Blues won the first leg in Prague 1-0 but at home on Thursday, the Blues scored four goals within the first 30 minutes and going into half-time, the tie looked pretty much wrapped up.

But the match was far from over as Slavia scored two quick-fire goals in the second half which added to their first one scored in the 25th minute.

While the visitors weren’t able to inflict any significant damage but the Blues did have a scare and they had to ensure that they were on their toes for the whole 90 minutes.

And now speaking after the game, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has claimed that they will need to win the Europa League if they wish to turn this campaign into a successful one.

“We can make the season beautiful by winning the Europa League,” said Kante.

“That’s the only title we can win now, so it would be great to win the Europa League.

“I think at the beginning of the game it was a good feeling to score three goals like this. The most important thing was to qualify.

“We’ll go into the semi-final with confidence and we hope to qualify for the final.”

The Frenchman also added the fact that the Blues are currently not the favourites to win the Europa League this season.

“We’re not favourites; we played a good match and we will do all we can to get to the final,” Kante added.

“But we’re not favourites. It was important for us to win this game.

“I think it’s important to be in the semi-finals, it was our target.

“We played a good game, it was difficult in the second half but we got what we wanted and we are happy for that.

“I think they worked very well, they tried to push more and scored two beautiful goals. And after that, we managed to hold on to keep the win.”
