Celtic lost the final Old Firm Derby of the 2018-19 season to Rangers this Sunday at Ibrox.
But many Hoops fans think that proper justice was not done to their side.
According to a lot of people, Rangers’ Jon Flanagan should have been sent off pretty early in the match for elbowing Scott Brown but oddly enough referee Kevin Clancy deemed it to be only a yellow card offence.
And speaking after the match, Celtic skipper Scott Brown has revealed what Clancy told him about the whole incident of not sending off Jon Flanagan.
Brown, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “Another one to the face.
“Surprisingly, somebody didn’t see that again.
“But there’s always a linesman there who can see it from the corner flag. There are two people there, both said they didn’t properly see it, so it’s a hard one for them.
“He (Clancy) said it was a yellow because it didn’t hit me in the face. But it’s part and parcel.
“At the end of the day, it wouldn’t have changed the outcome.”
Alfredo Morelos was sent off during the last Old Firm Derby for the similar elbowing incident to Scott Brown but this time around Jon Flanagan was pretty lucky that he the Celtic man did not feel the full effect of the blow.
Because if Jon Flanagan was sent off for that incident then surely, the Hopps would have had the upper hand in the match.
And given that at that point in the match, they were only 1-0 down Neil Lennon’s men would have surely found a way to make a comeback.
