Rangers FC started the current Premiership season in fine form and at one point it seemed like Gerrard’s men would be able to end the Celtic dominance on the title race.

But halfway into the season and it’s safe to say that the Gers have already fallen out of the title challenge meaning they only have the cup games and the Europa League to look forward too.

This week, Rangers FC are back in Europe as they take on Braga in the second leg of the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

The Ibrox outfit picked up a hard-fought 3-2 win in the first leg which has led many people to believe that Rangers can move to the next round. But at the same time, talking to Sky Sports, pundit Charlie Nicholas has claimed that Gerrard’s men could be in trouble.

Nicholas wrote: “Rangers know the title is gone. Steven Gerrard has been unhappy with the defence and questioned it quite a bit.

“It has been poor and evident for all to see.

“Gerrard has introduced the fighting spirit to this Rangers team. They have a really good away record in the Europa League, but I fear Braga are too good for them. It has been amazing for them to get here but I think they will go out on away goals.

“You cannot trust the defence at the minute, while Alfredo Morelos is suspended, so this spells trouble.”

FC Braga have managed to net 17 goals in the 2019-20 edition of the Europa League making them the highest-scoring team in this season’s tournament so it’s safe to assume that the Portuguese side will come out all guns blazing on Wednesday.
