Olivier Giroud has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season with Frank Lampard choosing to use Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi more regularly.
This season, the Frenchman has featured in only four Premier League games for the Blues playing a total of just 120 minutes and has also failed to net even a single goal so far.
So naturally with so little game time under his belt, the forward is sure to move out of the club and multiple reports are claiming that he is planning to head out during the January transfer window itself.
As per rumours, Serie A side Inter Milan have been interested in signing Olivier Giroud and now it’s being reported that the Italian outfit have already made their first move.
Sports Mole reported: “Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has reportedly met with Chelsea representatives in London to discuss a potential transfer for Olivier Giroud in January.”
Earlier this season, there were whispers that Olivier Giroud could be on his way back to France but with the way Inter are making rapid progress in the transfer, it’s safe to say that the World Cup winner should be heading to Italy next year.
Despite playing so little football this season, Giroud was still selected in the French squad during the current international break.
But while Didier Deschamps praised him for his past performances, the manager has also sent out a warning that if Olivier Giroud does not begin playing regularly for his club then he could very well have to bid goodbye to his national career.
The forward’s main objective behind joining Chelsea was to play regularly but right now he is the third choice striker at the club which is why it’s best for both him as well as the Blues, that they part ways during the January transfer window.
