Arsenal have rejected an offer from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to David Ornstein.
He wrote on Twitter: “Wolves made formal offer (below £20m) for Ainsley Maitland-Niles yesterday. Rejected by Arsenal as they seek higher fee for versatile 22yo.
“Among other interested clubs, 2 in Germany understood to be preparing bids.”

Is Ainsley Maitland-Niles going to remain at Arsenal?
Arsenal have made the loan deal for Cedric Soares permanent meaning if Mikel Arteta wants, he can let Ainsley Maitland-Niles head out of the Emirates this summer.
But recent reports have suggested that Ligue 1 giants PSG are interested in signing Hector Bellerin and maybe this is why the Gunners manager does not want to push out Ainsley Maitland-Niles so easily.
Also, as per the updates, Wolves’ formal offer was in the region of 20 million pounds and Arsenal currently value the 22-year-old much more than that.
Maybe, Wolves will come back with a better offer in the coming weeks but the right-back cum midfielder still has three years left on his current deal at the North London club which is why Mikel Arteta will not be too concerned with his immediate future.
We have a feeling that the fate of Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be decided with what happens to Hector Bellerin. If the Spaniard decides to move out of the club and join PSG then there’s no way the Arsenal boss will let Maitland-Niles join Wolves this transfer window.
