Rob Holding Arsenal
Rob Holding - Arsenal

Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding has fallen down the pecking order at the club and as per Daily Mail, Newcastle United want him on a loan deal.

The report states: “Newcastle United are interested in the services of Rob Holding who they would like to bring in on loan.

“Arsenal are reported to be open to offers for Holding who has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

“The Gunners are also on the verge of making a big £27m summer signing for Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes. Holding will be allowed to leave the club if and once Magalhaes’ deal goes through to join Mikel Arteta’s side.

“However, Newcastle will have to be wary to fend off other suitors, with Leeds United also believed to be interested in the signing of Holding.”

Should Rob Holding be allowed to leave on loan?

Arsenal are about to pull off the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille and once this transfer goes through Mikel Arteta should have no issues in letting Rob Holding venture out.

Right now, the Gunners have an overabundance of central defenders at their disposal and the manager is eager to make locker room space for the new arrivals at the club.

Rob Holding has featured in only 8 Premier League games for Arsenal during the 2019/20 season and most often than not, the defender has not even been able to make it to the matchday squad.

With the likes of David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis as a backup, we are pretty sure Mikel Arteta will have no issues in letting the 24-year-old head to St James’ Park(once Gabriel Magalhaes officially arrives at the North London club).
