Premier League side Arsenal will have a major goalkeeping conundrum next season now that Emiliano Martinez has also proved his worth at the club.

The South American was forced into action after Bernd Leno picked up a nasty injury against Brighton and Hove Albion right after the resumption. And over the past couples of weeks, Martinez has proved to be a constant figure for the Gunners.

Bernd Leno’s injury is not as serious as it was initially being claimed and the player will be fully fit to play once the new Premier League season kicks off. But Emiliano Martinez has made it clear that he will look to move out of the Emirates if he is not given regular first-team football during the 2020-21 season.

“I showed that I can play, I need to play more games next season,” he told Continental 590, via Football London.

“I want to establish myself at Arsenal and become first choice. If I don’t play, I’m going to move, I’m going to go where I play more.”

Will Emiliano Martinez move out of Arsenal?

This will be a bit of an issue for manager Mikel Arteta but we do not think the manager will risk benching someone like Bernd Leno.

Yes, Emiliano Martinez has done really well over the past month and a half but there’s no denying that Leno will be the long-term No 1 for the Gunners.

Once the 28-year-old returns to full fitness, he will move back straight into the starting XI meaning Martinez will once again be warming the benches.

Also, with Arsenal badly in need of transfer funds, they might very well allow Emiliano Martinez to head out and join a new club. And with the kind of performances he has given, we’re sure he’ll find no shortage of takers.
