Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz is going to be one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market this summer.

Already, major Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are being linked with the 21-year-old and now as per The Sun, La Liga giants Real Madrid have also joined the transfer race.

The report claims: “REAL MADRID are ready to join the battle for Kai Havertz – but Chelsea remain in pole position with the German prodigy keen on a move to the Premier League.

“Spanish giants Real are the latest to register an interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Havertz, who is regarded as Germany’s best young talent since Michael Ballack.

“Now Real have also shown their hand, but SunSport understands it is the chance to move to England which appeals most to Havertz at this stage.

“Havertz himself has preferred to keep his counsel while he sees out the remainder of the Bundesliga campaign, but is well aware of all the clubs keen on his services.”

Is Kai Havertz on his way to Real Madrid?

Chelsea are still being considered as the favourites to sign Kai Havertz but if Real Madrid are serious about signing the midfielder, there’s every chance the youngster might snub a move to England.

Man United and Liverpool also want to sign the 20-year-old but the youngster will want guaranteed playing-time at his new club and right now, these two sides will not be able to offer that during the upcoming season.

Also, Manchester United are chasing Jack Grealish and if the Aston Villa man comes on board then there’s no way Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make a move for Havertz.

So this leaves Chelsea and Liverpool to battle it out for Havertz but Real Madrid might jump to the front of the queue for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, the La Liga side have money to spend this summer unlike the two Premier League sides and secondly, they are one of the biggest clubs in European football right now and joining them means guaranteed trophies.
