Arsenal finally managed to get their hands of Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney after chasing him for almost the whole summer transfer window.

The Gunners had made it pretty clear that they wanted to bring in the youngster after he had an impressive run with the Bhoys during the past couple of seasons but it was not easy trying to convince Celtic to sell him off.

The Premiership club wanted nothing less than £25 million for Kieran Tierney and eventually, Arsenal had to pay that amount in order to secure the services of left-back.

And talking about the player, former Arsenal man Perry Groves has claimed that the Scott is actually better than Man United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka in going forward.

“[Yes], when you think that Wan-Bissaka goes for £50m,” said Groves.

“But that’s because he’s played a season in the Premier League. Kieran Tierney is better going forward than Wan-Bissaka; Wan-Bissaka is a better defender than what Kieran Tierney is.”

Man United splashed a lot of money in trying to reorganize their defence this summer and if their first game vs Chelsea is anything to go by then surely the new signings will turn out to be good for the club.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka made an impressive debut vs Chelsea but as Perry Groves pointed out, the right-back could not offer much going forward.

On the other hand, though, he was rock solid in defence – something that Man United actually wanted for a really long time.

Yes, Kieran Tierney was very influential while joining in attacks for Celtic last season but he is yet to put those skills to the test in the English Premier League.

And the fact that he will be returning back from hernia operation could mean that it might take a long time before Kieran Tierney starts producing his best.

But Aaron Wan-Bissaka looks a well-oiled machine and the former Crystal Palace man could play a key role in helping Manchester United get back into the Champions League next campaign.
