Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is on his way to the Serie A in the coming few days with Torino likely to be his next destination, according to Calciomercato.

The report claims: “Lucas Torreira approaches Turin.

“And it does so thanks also to Armando Izzo. The negotiation between the grenade club and Arsenal is finally (considering how long the contacts have started) unlocking.

“In the last few hours, in fact, the two clubs have reached an agreement on the figure to get to the white smoke: 24 million for the definitive purchase of the midfielder.”

Should Lucas Torreira be allowed to leave?

Torino is currently being managed by Marco Giampaolo who also was the manager at Sampdoria when Lucas Torreira was playing there, a couple of seasons ago.

So clearly a move to Turin makes a whole lot of sense for the South American.

As far as Arsenal are concerned, they paid around €28m to sign the Uruguay international back in the summer of 2018. And as per the latest rumours, Torino are paying €24m, including add-ons for the midfielder.

If this figure is true then it is truly a win-win situation for the Premier League side since they not only manage to sell Lucas Torreira at a minimal loss but at the same time, they can also use the incoming money to fund new transfers.

Also, Arsenal have managed to bring in Dani Ceballos on yet another loan deal so letting someone like Lucas Torreira go do not pose too much of a risk.
