Livingston FC forward Lyndon Dykes has been heavily linked with a move to Rangers FC during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Dykes joined Livingston from Queen of the South FC in January of 2019 and during the 2019-20 season, the 24-year-old has been scored nine and assisting eight goals in 25 Premiership matches.

Now while talking about his international career, the 24-year-old has acknowledged the interest from the Gers, claiming that he can be a success at Ibrox.

“I don’t see why I couldn’t step into a club like Rangers,” Dykes said, as per the BBC.

“I back myself 100%. I would learn from the players they have, the manager, and once I got in that environment put my head down and work hard to be that striker that the club needs.

“I’m enjoying my time at Livingston. But I want to get to the highest level. If that’s down in England or in Scotland or wherever it is, that’s something that I aim to do.”

This is a major boost for Steven Gerrard as the manager is planning to rope in a new centre-forward before the next season kicks off.

But getting their hands on Lyndon Dykes will not be a walk in the park since, over the past couple of days, Welsh side Cardiff City are being linked with the Australian.

The report claims: “Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes has been linked with a move to Cardiff City. Rangers are among the clubs who are reportedly interested in the Australian, but MailSport report today that there has been no contact between Steven Gerrard’s side and Livingston.

“Cardiff are believed to have had the 24-year-old watched several times before the shutdown, and are considered the most interested club.”

In the past, Lyndon Dykes has admitted that he wishes to play for an elite club so if Cardiff are earnestly interested in him then there’s every chance the 24-year-old could snub a move to Rangers and head south of the border.
