PSG are on the verge of losing Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid at the end of this season and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the French side will try and sign Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as the long-term replacement.

Jacobs, in an exclusive interview with Caught Offside has claimed that Rashford has been on PSG’s radar for a really long time and they feel the time is right to make a formal move for the England international.

Marcus Rashford has been with Manchester United’s senior side since 2016 and in these eight years, the 26-year-old has played close to 400 games for the club, scoring 128 goals. Last season, he netted 30 goals in 56 appearances but unfortunately, he’s not been able to bring that form into this campaign.

Not only has he performed poorly on the pitch, but he has also faced scrutiny and criticism off it. Some time ago, he missed a training session due to oversleeping, and last month, he called in sick after staying out late partying at a nightclub in Belfast.

PSG feel these problems clubbed with his poor form will convince Erik ten Hag to cash in on him but there’s very little chance that Man United will want to offload him in the summer.

Earlier this season, Marcus Rashford and Garnacho had been fighting for a spot down the left wing but in recent weeks, Garnacho has slotted into the right-hand side allowing Rashford to get consistent starts.

Also, Ten Hag has refused to make a fuss regarding Rashford’s disciplinary issues so it’s clear that the Man United manager still has faith in him. He’s sorted things out with the player privately and has refused to divulge any information to the media.

If Garnacho can become a regular on the right wing then Ten Hag can afford to cash in on Antony, thereby saving the club a lot of money. Also, Jadon Sancho is not coming back which means Manchester United cannot afford to get rid of Marcus Rashford any time soon.

Talking about PSG, the Ligue 1 side have accepted the fact that Kylian Mbappe is going to leave as a free agent in the summer and while they want to sign Marcus Rashford as a replacement, it will be impossible for them to convince Man United on a sale.

The 26-year-old signed a new contract last year which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2028 and unless the forward’s relationship with Ten Hag breaks down in the coming months, Man United won’t sell Marcus Rashford, not even for a fee of around €100 million.
