Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has named teammate Marcus Rashford as the most talented player he’s played with so far.

The England international has rubbed shoulders with a number of big stars both for club and country but talking to Manchester United, the centre-back chose to praise Marcus Rashford.

“I think as a club, you should have a captain and rely on him, but you need to spread the onus of the leadership in the group,” Maguire told the club’s official podcast.

“He’s always wanting to make himself available. I think you can see around the place, on and off the field as well, he’s excellent with his charity work, which is great to see.

“On the pitch, like I said, he’s amazed me. He’s the most talented player I’ve ever played with.

“I’ve always spoken so highly of Marcus when I have been with him in the England squad. I can’t speak highly enough of him. I think he’s going to go on to have an exceptional career.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but I think he’s going to be a wonderful player for Manchester United, as he is now.”

Is Marcus Rashford really better than Harry Kane?

A number of people on social media have admitted that Maguire should have named England captain Harry Kane as the best player he’s played with. But the defender clearly has his favourite.

Marcus Rashford made his debut for the senior side during the 2015-16 season when he was still a teenager and that very same season, Kane had thumped 25 goals in just 38 Premier League matches for Spurs.

So it will not be very logical to compare both these players.

But at the same time, Marcus Rashford has constantly been touted as the next flag bearer of the England attack and this season, the player has finally added goals to his tally, something that had been missing over the past couple of seasons.

Before he got injured, Rashford netted 14 goals in 22 EPL games while Kane has managed only 11 in 20 so far(an average record as per his standard).

We are not saying this is the downfall of the Three Lions captain but surely the next season will see the rise of Marcus Rashford as one of the best forwards in European football. And maybe, just maybe, he could be the next Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
