Arsenal picked up a 1-0 win against West Ham United and Dani Ceballos had another fine outing for the Gunners.

The loanee has been impressing in the first XI during the last couple of weeks after spending much of the season on the sidelines.

At the start of the year, there were rumours that the player could be on his way out of the club but eventually, that did not happen and last week there were even rumours of Arteta thinking of signing him permanently.

Arteta though told The Mirror: “We haven’t had any discussions about it [a permanent deal]. I’m really happy with Dani and what he’s bringing to the team right now.

“It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I’ve seen in the past. He’s performing much better now and that’s why he’s playing much more games.”

And now Matthew Upson has claimed the Arsenal manager might be providing a bit of special treatment to Dani Ceballos since the Spaniard is the mould of player that Arteta wants in his squad.

“Dani Ceballos is probably the one Arsenal player on the pitch who is trying to inject some energy into the game”, Upson said as quoted in the Standard.

“Since Arteta has come in, it’s as if he has singled him out as a player and thought ‘I know I can get more from him, he is going to fit into my playing style’ and he really looks as if he is giving his all for the manager.”

Does Dani Ceballos have a long term future at Arsenal?

Dani Ceballos was on the verge of moving back to Spain in January but since then he has performed a massive turnaround and right now he seems to have won the trust of his manager.

But having said this though, it remains to be seen if Arteta wants to keep him for the upcoming season or bring in some fresh faces during the summer transfer window.

There are rumours that Arsenal might lose a number of their players at the end of the season and surely the manager would want to bring in his first priority signings. And right now, a central midfielder is not one of them.
