Arsenal are moving closer to signing Denis Suarez from FC Barcelona(at the time of writing this article).

The Gunners have successfully managed to fend off interest from Chelsea and sign the 25-year-old central midfielder.

But a question that some of the fans have been asking lately is that where will Denis Suarez fit in under Unai Emery?

Yes, the Spaniard is perhaps the long-term solution to Aaron Ramsey who will be joining Juventus at the end of the season but the Welsh international is very much a part of Unai Emery’s plans this season.

Ramsey will hopefully not leave Arsenal this month meaning Emery will have to choose whether he pushed the Welshman down the pecking order to does he start Denis Suarez on the bench.

A sensible person will say that Denis Suarez should be given the opportunity ahead of Aaron Ramsey since the former will be at the club for a long time.

But then, Unai Emery also needs that top four finish.

And just when the fans and the pundits had been pondering over the role of Denis Suarez until the end of the season, Unai Emery might just have dropped a hint as to how he plans to use the Spaniard.

When asked about Denis Suarez, the Arsenal boss said:

“I think the club is working for the possibility to bring in some players who can help us during this next four months of competition.

“It’s a different situation. If the transfer market can help us find a centre back, the possibility to bring them in is not easy because we also have Mavropanos coming back from injury.

“If we have the possibility to sign some important players, we can do it. At left or right wing, perhaps one player can help us in this position. We will only sign players who give us quality.

“He[Denis Suarez] was playing as a left or right winger for Sevilla when he was with me.”

Emery obviously knows a lot about Denis Suarez from his Sevilla days and it looks like the manager is planning to use the Barcelona man as a patch-up role for various position until Aaron Ramsey makes an exit.
