Rangers FC have signed Jermain Defoe from AFC Bournemouth and with that, the manager has finally plugged that gap up front.

Now Steven Gerrard finally has the services of three strikers in the form of Alfredo Morelos, Kyle Lafferty and now Jermain Defoe.

But it seems, the Gers boss is not content and has now brought back Ryan Hardie.

Ryan Hardie is a Rangers man who was sent out on loan to Livingston early last year and the centre-forward has really impressed during his time with the Lions.

This season, the 21-year-old has played in seven games in the Premiership – scoring five goals.

And now Gerrard has called him back from his loan spell meaning he will join the rest of the Gers squad in their training camp.

The call back means Ryan Hardie will have some part to play under Gerrard this season but some fans are not too pleased with this decision.

Many fans feel that Ryan Hardie will be used sparingly for the rest of the season and he was much better off spending the rest of the season on loan with Livingston.

With the arrival of Jermain Defoe even Kyle Lafferty might find it hard to get game time so where will Steven Gerrard accommodate Hardie?

The advantage with Ryan Hardie though is that instead of playing as a centre-forward, the 21-year-old can also play on either wing. Maybe this is why the Teddy Bears manager has chosen to call him back.

And many people are arguing that instead of calling back Ryan Hardie, the manager should have brought back Greg Docherty who has been having an excellent time with Shrewsbury.

Some reports claim that Gerrard might call back Docherty too but right now there is no such development.
